Egalitarianism is also expressed with the male Australian accent. Around 20 per cent of Australian men speak with what is known as a broad accent. Speakers include actor Paul Hogan, who started life as a workman on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Kerry Packer, a late billionaire who started life with a silver spoon in his mouth.

It is rare for women to speak with the accent. For one reason on another, women who speak with the accent are ridiculed as being low class. The derogatory sentiments directed at such women represent an exception to Australia's egalitarian ideals.

если матерится женщина, это вызывает несколько иную реакцию, чем мат мужчины (плохо, но терпимо). так что в русской культуре такой же подход :)
