Over the years many of you have asked about the film being adapted from the title story of my second book, "Pu-239 and Other Russian Fantasies." I'm pleased to announce that it will finally be screened, premiering on HBO Saturday, November 17, at 8 pm.
Directed and written for the screen by Scott Z. Burns, the film stars Paddy Consadine and Radha Mitchell. I have a very brief walk-on, measured in nanoseconds, crossing a subway platform. The film's rated the TV equivalent of an R, for violence and Russian-accented profanity, none of it performed by me.
After the premiere, the film will be shown on HBO through the following month, at varied times of day and night, and it will be available through HBO on Demand. Here's a link to the HBO film site, with links to the schedule and a video trailer: http://www.hbo.com/films/pu239/index.html
For those of you living off the grid - that is, only with Basic Cable - my understanding is that the film will eventually be available on DVD, from the usual rental places.
