Вот это кончилось тем, что мне так толком ничего и не посоветовали. Пришлось эксплуатировать детский труд - попросила одного из детей написать несколько диалогов. Ну он и написал. По прочтении я ржала как ненормальная. Наверное, это хорошо.
Scenario 1: The Shopping Mall
1: Hello.
2. Hello, and welcome to our store.
1. Thank you. Are there any sales going on right now?
2. Sure!
1. Which items are on sale, then?
2. The tennis rackets are half off, and so are the couches.
1. I’ve been meaning to pick up a sport lately. Are they good rackets?
2. I’m afraid not. If they were good rackets, they wouldn’t be on sale.
1. Maybe the sports thing was a bad idea to begin with.
2. Yes. The couches are quite good, though.
1. Oh, that’s right, you mentioned couches.
2. They’re very good couches.
1. I would like to buy one, then.
2. Very well. That will be $250.
1. I thought you said they were on sale!
2. That’s right.
1. But that’s so expensive! I can’t afford that.
2. Would you like to buy something else, then?
1. No, thank you. Goodbye.
2. Goodbye.
